Davis Community Meals Donation Drive

This project was created to help supply the Davis Community Meals homeless shelter with the items it needs, such as canned foods and hygiene products, by collecting donations from local businesses and community service clubs at Davis Senior High School.
Scope and Impact
Our project aims to help our community at a local level by donating to Davis Community Meals, the main homeless shelter in Davis. Our donation would most likely help feed many people, and other supplies such as blankets, soap, and shampoo would be very helpful to Davis Community Meals because many homeless will be going there for shelter as winter approaches.

Foster Children Assistance Program
Scope and Impact
Stanford Youth Solutions is a non-profit foster agency that helps at-risk foster children and their families locally. Their highly skilled specialists and counselors provide intensive, individualized programs that empower children and families in difficult circumstances.
As part of two donation drives to benefit the at-risk kids and families served by Stanford, HBB’s teams of youth leaders collected countless new toys, gifts and books. The items were included in SYS’s Holiday Store from where families were able to pick out something of their choice during the winter 2017 holidays. Many of the new and gently used donated books were used for the library from where families are allowed to take and keep books of their choice.

Blood Donation Drive Program
Scope and Impact
HBB’s Blood Donation Drive in collaboration with Blood Source, led by Afrah Eusuff is still ongoing. Volunteers are asked to donate a liter of blood at any Blood Source Center, including mobile centers. Each donation will save up to 3 people. Unfortunately, most people are not eligible to donate blood for various reasons. That’s why those who are eligible must donate to save precious lives! Each donor also receives free snacks and a T-shirt from Blood Source.
All generous donors are asked to use Blood Source code 0381 at the time of donating blood.
