Tasnim Aslam was planning to do something for “Mission Girls High School”—her 10-year home for schooling in Rajshahi, Bangladesh. While many students there excel in their studies, they are in dire need of financial support. As such, she is starting a scholarship to help them continue their basic 10 years of schooling. She is starting the project in memory of her late father Abdus Salam, who was a well known and reputable person in Rajshahi, Bangladesh for his charitable work.

Scope and Impact

As each batch of underprivileged students (7 students) graduates from Mission Girls High School, school administrators will select another set of students to be financially supported. Their scholarships will be handed over during the school’s annual award ceremony. Meanwhile, Tasnim will remain in contact with the school to understand, monitor and track the progress of her project.

Duration

This project is a lifelong project that will continue with new batches of students.

Success Criteria

As Tasnim remains in contact with the high school, she will be provided with documentation of the fund’s usage as well as lists of students, their report cards, and their financial needs. By providing the financial support needed for academic success, Tasnim hopes that students will be able to pursue their career goals further ahead.
