Scope and Impact: Underprivileged families who are affected by COVID-19 situation and who also experienced loss of income and face starvation risk will be considered to receive the HBB food relief help. Due to mandatory home-stay and social distancing requirements, people have been unable to go to find work. Many lost their jobs or pay since factories and most businesses are closed. The urban poor, who live off their daily wages have been hit the most, with no savings for routine health care or emergency medical crisis, and little ability to pay for housing and basic needs. The economic shock has brought the country into food insecurity. Families have been forced to skip meals due to the feared dire situation ahead for the uncertain severity of economic consequences of COVID-19 effect. The obvious need is to feed the less fortunate through food assistance.
Project Cost: 2500

How it aligns with HBB mission: The project aligns with the mission of HBB as the beneficiaries are only the underprivileged individuals and their communities. The project provides relief from food insecurity resulting from COVID-19 related loss of income of the less fortunate people. This relief is a necessary step for thriving towards empowering marginalized communities and help them achieve economic independence overcoming this crisis time .
Success Criteria/Sustainability: The beneficiary families will survive this extreme challenged time from obvious starvation. With this efforts, these families will not have to skip meals, at least for this one moth duration which is reasonable time to plan to generate income. The cost to serve one family will be about $5-10 based on need and area. A report will be submitted at the end of the project.
